Dr Anwar Naseem is an Associate Professor of Economics at the School of Arts and Sciences, UCA. Dr Naseem has more than 15 years of research and teaching experience, having previously worked at Rutgers University, McGill University, and the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI). He has taught courses in introductory economics, intermediate microeconomics, development economics, and natural resources, and environmental economics. 

Dr Naseem’s broad research interests include agricultural development, science/innovation policy, and market structure/performance as it relates to agricultural input markets. His research has examined the economic impacts of private investments in agriculture, especially those directed towards research and development activities. The unifying theme of his research is to better understand how technology and innovations instigate changes in industry structure, economic development, and global trade, and how these changes influence the formation of the government's science and technology policies. His work on these respective topics has been published in leading journals and presented at various scholarly and policy forums. He earned his Ph.D. in agricultural economics from Michigan State University, M.Sc. from the University of Pennsylvania, and B.Sc. from McGill University.
