Madina’s current research focuses on sustainable development of Kazakhstan and Central Asia as a whole, including cross-border issues, regional development and management of natural resources. She has worked as an consultant providing professional assessments for local government and international institutions in Kazakhstan on urban and regional planning, environmental protection and architecture since 2006. Madina advised various projects financed by World Bank, Asian Development Bank, Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and German Agency for Technical Cooperation (GTZ).
