Aslan was a Visiting Professor, teaching international development and developing curriculum on Central Asia politics at the University of Denver, USA and taught for four years at the Ataturk Alatoo of Kyrgyzstan in Third World politics, public administration, Middle East politics and political science. He is the Director of the web portal, www.education.kgand has served as Deputy Director for the AKIpress news agency and as Chief Editor of “The Times of Central Asia” in Kyrgyzstan. Aslan has published extensively on government policies and their impact. Most recently, he worked as a Researcher and Consultant for the Natural Resource Management Research Project at the University of Bern, Switzerland from 2015 to 2016. His research interests include economic development, nation building, Central Asia politics and the Ferghana Valley.
