Aslan was a visiting professor, teaching international development and developing curriculum on Central Asia politics at the University of Denver, USA and taught for four years at the Ataturk Alatoo of Kyrgyzstan in Third World politics, public administration, Middle East politics and political science. Aslan is the director of the web portal, www.education.kg. He served as Deputy Director for the AKIpress news agency and as Chief Editor of “The Times of Central Asia” in Kyrgyzstan.  He has numerous publications on government policies and their impact. At LKYSPP, Aslan focused on government policies, and his research interests include economic development, nation building, Central Asia politics and the Ferghana Valley.
