Serik’s areas of research include contentious politics in Europe, patterns of regional integration, and medieval history of Europe. He served as Assistant Professor and Chair of European Studies at the American University of Central Asia, teaching on history and politics of Europe and the European Union, developing curriculum and supervising senior theses.
