IPPA Announcement: Certificate Programme in Economic Policy
The University of Central Asia (UCA) Graduate School of Development's Institute of Public Policy and Administration (IPPA), is pleased to announce its Certificate Programme in Economic Policy (CPEP) for prospective candidates. The programme, taught by a team of highly qualified staff, commences on April 9th 2018 at UCA in Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic. CPEP is targeted towards civil servants, independent analysts and staff at think-tanks and non-governmental organisations who wish to acquire skills that are essential in advancing evidence-based policy analysis.

Regional Roundtable: Promoting Social Cohesion and Conflict Mitigation along the Kyrgyz-Tajik Border
On February 15th 2018, the University of Central Asia's (UCA) Mountain Societies Research Institute and Institute of Public Policy and Administration will hold a regional roundtable on Promoting Social Cohesion and Conflict Mitigation along the Kyrgyz-Tajik Border, which will present the results of the desk review and field research conducted by UCA in the Batken and Leilek districts of the Kyrgyz Republic. This expert roundtable also will provide an opportunity for expert assessments of conflict dynamics in the border areas to be presented.

Scholarship Opportunity: Candidate from Central Asia to Pursue a Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science Abroad
UCA is seeking to select and sponsor up to 3 qualified Central Asian candidates to pursue a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from an accredited university in Canada, the USA or the UK. The candidates will be expected to commence the Master’s degree in September 2017 and complete it within the period stipulated by the admitting university or by May 2019. Upon successful completion of the degree, the candidates will be required to assume a library position at UCA and serve for at least 5 years at one of its campus libraries.
