On 26 May, UCA's Institute of Public Policy and Administration Associate Director Roman Mogilevskii will speak on Economic Integration, Labor Migration, Agricultural Policy, and Food Security in Eurasia Region at the International Conference on Agriculture, Food Security and Nutrition in Eurasia featuring IFPRI’s 2017 Global Food Policy Report at the Lomonosov Moscow State University, Economics Department.

Scholarship Opportunity: Candidate from Central Asia to Pursue a Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science Abroad
UCA is seeking to select and sponsor up to 3 qualified Central Asian candidates to pursue a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from an accredited university in Canada, the USA or the UK. The candidates will be expected to commence the Master’s degree in September 2017 and complete it within the period stipulated by the admitting university or by May 2019. Upon successful completion of the degree, the candidates will be required to assume a library position at UCA and serve for at least 5 years at one of its campus libraries.

Exploring the Notion of 'Sunna': A Reading of Malik's al-Muwatta on Evidence (Arabic and English)
The seminar will offer a taster session for prospective students who are interested in studying at postgraduate level and will encourage attendees to actively participate, debate and challenge. The seminar is open to students and the public. AKU's ISMC works to illuminate the historical and contemporary aspects of Muslim societies and to create a platform for fresh thinking about their futures through research, publications, public events and an interdisciplinary Masters of Arts that attracts students from around the world to its London campus.

PhD Scholarship to Study Central Asian Economics in Europe
The Institute of Public Policy and Administration (IPPA) of the University of Central Asia (UCA) and Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) are pleased to announce a partnership to develop Central Asian scholars in the field of Economics. UCA’s Central Asian Faculty Development Programme (CAFDP) is designed to ensure that Central Asian scholars with top international academic credentials are strongly represented among the faculty of the University. CAFDP is now accepting applications for a SIPRI-UCA Scholarship for PhD studies. This scholarship is made possible with support from the World Bank.

Change the World Around You! - Social Entrepreneurship Contest

The University of Central Asia, Coca-Cola Company,  and Coca Cola Foundation announce the second “Change the World Around You!”competition. We are seeking youth in the Kyrgyz Republic and Kazakhstan with an original idea, who can contribute to solving social problems in their communities. In the Kyrgyz Republic, the six best proposals will receive grants of up to $2,450 to implement their ideas. In Kazakhstan, the top five proposals will receive up to $2,015 to implement their projects.

Dr Duishon Shamatov, UCA Senior Research Fellow, will be at the Annual Conference of Central Eurasian Studies Society (CESS) from 18 – 21 October 2012.
