The University of Central Asia’s School of Arts and Sciences hosted more than 300 visitors during at its inaugural Open House at the University’s first residential campus in Naryn, Kyrgyz Republic on 4 December 2016.

This event showcased the 360-degree UCA experience, from rigorous academics and thoughtfully designed study spaces, to brand new sports facilities and exciting extracurricular and social opportunities,” said Dr Diana Pauna, Dean of the School of Arts and Sciences.

With the smallest student to faculty ratio in the region and a student body made up of diverse students from different countries, our residential learning experience is truly one of a kind.”

The Open House hosted prospective Grade 11 students, parents and high school administrators from Kyrgyzstan and beyond. During the day-long affair, students and their parents were introduced to UCA and its core specialisations; Communications and Media; Computer Science; Earth and Environmental Sciences and Economics.

I heard about UCA from many people in Kyrgzstan. I had no regrets travelling to the Open House, I really liked the teachers and facilities. Before, I was contemplating if I should allow my son to study here, but now visiting, I am certain. This is the best place for my son,” Suiumkan Butunbaev.

Visitors also toured the University’s facilities, explored programmes and attended workshops. Faculty and staff detailed the residential campus experience, including the preparatory programme, degree specialisations, admission requirements and financial aid options. Students from the Class of 2021 who lead the Student Life, and Health and Wellness Club also organised an array of activities to give the young visitors a taste of living on a residential campus.

The open house marked the start of UCA’s admissions campaign for the 2017-2018 Academic Year. Applications are available now for study at both the UCA Naryn Campus, which was launched in September 2016, and the UCA Khorog, Tajikistan Campus, opening in September 2017.
