UCA News Special Issue: UCA Chancellor Visits Kyrgyz Republic
With the countdown to the opening of our first campus underway, UCA welcomed Chancellor, His Highness the Aga Khan, to the Kyrgyz Republic in November 2014. This issue features highlights of that visit.
Other features include a behind-the-scenes look at UCA’s construction strategy and stories on participants in UCA’s Certificate Programme in Policy Analysis and its Central Asia and Afghanistan Research Fellowship programme. A frank conversation with UCA’s Executive Chairman Mr Shamsh Kassim-Lakha sheds light on what it takes to build a regional university.
Making the news, the Institute of Public Policy and Administration released findings of the first evidence-based study on the current and projected socioeconomic impact of the Kumtor gold mine in the Kyrgyz Republic. We also uncover recent findings at the Naryn campus archaeological site, review a stunning new book on historic Kyrgyz cemeteries and feature the opening of UCA’s state-of-the-art GIS lab.
