Naryn, Kyrgyz Republic

The University’s first residential undergraduate campus is located on the banks of the Naryn River, the longest river in the Kyrgyz Republic, and nestled amidst the Tian Shan Mountain range. UCA’s School of Professional and Continuing Education (SPCE) also has a Town Campus learning centre in Naryn.

UCA Naryn Campus

The UCA Naryn Campus launched in September 2016. It is the first phase of a larger vision for the 252-hectare site, gifted by the Kyrgyz Government. Classes commenced for the inaugural class of 71 undergraduates at the Naryn Campus on September 5th 2016.

Students majoring in Computer Science (BSc) and Communications and Media (BA) are enrolled at the Naryn campus in Kyrgyzstan.

Phase I includes a 13,927m² space for 150 students featuring state of the art classrooms, library and laboratories; secure, modular student dormitories and faculty and staff residences. Its international standard athletic facilities, including two tennis courts and a football pitch are open to the public and UCA’s Sports Dome offers indoor athletics year-round. When the final phase is complete, the campus will accommodate 1,200 students and span 125,000m².

To prepare the campus site for construction, UCA established two nurseries and planted 60,000 trees, plants and shrubs to replant on and around the UCA campus site. Using stone sourced from the Naryn River, UCA constructed over 2.4 kilometres of green and gabion wall, securing campus boundaries and stabilising the Naryn River bank. UCA diverted high voltage power lines when routing a portion of the Naryn State Road off the campus site. Telecommunication lines were redirected onto the site.
