Prince Aly Muhammad visits the Naryn Campus of the University of Central Asia
19 November 2018, Naryn, Kyrgyzstan - Earlier this month, Prince Aly Muhammad completed a five-day, private visit to the Kyrgyz Republic, during which he visited the Naryn campus of the University of Central Asia. Prince Aly Muhammad spent time with students in Naryn to understand more about their backgrounds and aspirations. As part of his ongoing work this year, Prince Aly Muhammad also plans to build on his first film, Close to Home. Read more.

University of Central Asia's Khorog Campus

The University of Central Asia’s (UCA) undergraduate campus in Tajikistan is located in Khorog, 2,100 metres above sea level on a site gifted by the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan. Phase I construction of the UCA Khorog campus was completed in 2017, and includes an academic block, laboratory building, student life building, and residences.

The Khorog Campus houses a library, classrooms, a computer lab, student common spaces, dining hall, administrative offices and faculty reception, offices and residences. Each UCA campus features secure, modular dormitories, and athletic facilities including a football pitch, tennis courts, and a Sports Bubble that offers indoor athletics year-round. Majors offered at the Khorog Campus include Economics (BA), and Earth and Environmental Science (BSc).

UCA Draws Over 200 Students to its Open House

Grade 11 students, parents and high school administrators from At-Bashy, Chok-Tal, Balykchy, Karakol, Naryn and Bishkek in Kyrgyzstan attended UCA's open house on February 11th. They met undergraduate students and faculty, toured the campus facilities and learnt about UCA's programmes, co-operative education and residential life.

Undergraduates Settle into Residential University Life at the UCA Naryn Campus

The first month of classes at the University of Central Asia (UCA) Naryn Campus got off to a bustling start. UCA’s inaugural 71 undergraduates acclimated to to residential university life on the Naryn Campus, getting acquainted with roommates and meeting fellow classmates from Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Since arriving on campus, the diverse cohort of students have familiarised themselves with the characteristically small class sizes, challenging coursework and student-centred approach to teaching and learning that set UCA’s programme apart. The first year Preparatory Programme, taught by faculty from around the world, is helping upgrade students’ skills in English for academic purposes, mathematics and science.


UCA Naryn Campus Inauguration
19 October 2016, Naryn, Kyrgyz Republic - The University of Central Asia (UCA) opened its first campus in Naryn, Kyrgyz Republic on 19 October 2016 with Kyrgyz Prime Minister Sooronbay Jeenbekov and His Highness the Aga Khan. The ceremony was held under the patronage of President Almazbek Atambayev.
