On Location: At UCA in Tekeli, Kazakhstan

In October 2013, University Communications spent time with our town and main campus colleagues in Tekeli, Kazakhstan.  Preparatory works for main campus construction continue as the professional nursery team prepare for winter. Instructors at the School of Professional and Continuing Education (SPCE) are reaching secondary school students, youth and adults with academic enrichment, English-language and professional development courses. We hope that the energy and hunger for knowledge that we encountered in those lively classrooms are captured in this gallery.

Media Briefing on University of Central Asia's Naryn Campus Phase I Construction Begins

The University of Central Asia (UCA) announced the official start of Phase I of its Naryn main campus construction at a media briefing on 27 September 2013. Held at UCA’s School of Professional and Continuing Education Town Campus in Naryn, Kyrgyz Republic, the briefing was attended by local government, UCA representatives, contractors, as well as local and regional media.

University of Central Asia Celebrates 5th Graduation Ceremony in Dushanbe
21 September 2013, Dushanbe, Tajikistan - More than 200 graduates from the University of Central Asia’s Aga Khan Humanities Project (UCA-AKHP) and School of Professional and Continuing Education (SPCE) were awarded certificates at UCA’s 5th Graduation Ceremony at the Ismaili Centre, Dushanbe on 21 September 2013.

SPCE TVET Alumni & Students Help Construct New Village School in Tajikistan
17 September 2013, Vanqala, Tajikistan - An unprecedented collaboration between alumni, instructors and students of the University of Central Asia’s School of Professional and Continuing Education's (UCA-SPCE) Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET) programme has contributed to the construction of a new village school in Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Oblast (GBAO), Tajikistan. This unique initiative brought together several generations of UCA learners in a community effort that will benefit 150 students from two villages in the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Oblast, Tajikistan.

UCA Khorog Stone Crushing Process
03 September 2013, Khorog, Tajikistan - To prepare its Khorog campus site for construction, the University of Central Asia (UCA) is clearing and crushing up to 160,000 cubic metres of rock. The cleared land will house UCA buildings and the crushed stone will be used as raw material in the construction of roads, the Khorog campus buildings and other infrastructure.
