UCA Khorog Campus Inauguration Ceremony - 14 September 2018
In what was a historic milestone, the University of Central Asia’s Khorog campus was formally inaugurated on 14 September 2018 by Tajikistan’s President Emomali Rahmon. The Khorog campus is the second campus of the University to become operational since its Naryn campus was inaugurated in Kyrgyzstan in 2016.

Spotlight: Amanbek Ismailov
Amanbek Ismailov works at UCA’s Naryn Campus and raises eagles in his spare time. Originally from Alysh Village, Amanbek began hunting with eagles in Grade 7, and is currently raising an eagle named “Oimok”. Many awards, and even a film called “Oimok” has made this eagle a celebrity.

Building a Healthy Campus Culture
The practice of counselling is a fairly new concept in Central Asia. At UCA, the counselling office is dedicated to ensuring students and staff receive the support they need to succeed academically, personally, and socially. To better understand the role of these services at UCA, a Summer Counselling Skills workshop pilot project was held at the Naryn Campus from August 5-10.

Over 200 Graduate from SPCE in Khorog
On August 25th, the University of Central Asia (UCA) delivered certificates to over 200 graduates (47% women) from its School of Professional and Continuing Education (SPCE) in Khorog. The learners completed courses in Accounting Technology; Cashier; Business Planning Management of Small and Medium Business; Conversational English; English for Academic Purposes; Chinese language; Certificates in Technical Vocational Education and Training, and the Teaching Knowledge Test.

Skills Development in Afghanistan
The University of Central Asia's (UCA) School of Professional and Continuing Education graduated 178 learners (48% women) in Ishkashim and Zebak, Afghanistan in August, bringing SPCE graduates in Afghanistan to over 6,000 since 2014. Students were awarded with certificates in elementary and pre-intermediate conversational English.

Tajikistan Ministry of Education and UCA Sign Agreement
The Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan and the University of Central Asia (UCA) took a key step forward by signing an Agreement of Cooperation to enhance their mutually beneficial relationship with “the aim of preparing highly educated professional specialists who are able to meet competition in internal and external labor markets, introducing new methods of education, improving the quality of education, as well as carrying out the educational activities” at UCA’s School of Arts and Sciences, Khorog, Tajikistan.

UCA Signs Agreement with Almaty Department of Education
The University of Central Asia (UCA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Department of Education in the Almaty Oblast on August 23rd 2018 to implement UCA’s Education Improvement Programme (EIP) to 20 secondary schools in the Almaty Region.

Discovering the History and Culture of the Pamir-Kyrgyz
UCA’s Cultural Heritage and Humanities Unit organised two public lectures in August in Naryn and Bishkek covering the history, culture and traditional games of the Pamir-Kyrgyz, delivered by Professor Sulaiman Kaiypov, a well-known folklorist and ethnographer from" the Xinjiang Pedagogical University in China.

Football Tournament Kicks Off in Naryn
The football field at the University of Central Asia’s Naryn Campus was full of excitement as the seventh annual football tournament kicked off on August 24th. The 5-day tournament gathered hundred of residents and sportsmen to cheer on 8 teams representing city districts including RTS, Moskovskaya, Borbor, Gorodok, Almabak, Ak-Korgon, Tosh-Bulak as well as UCA’s team.
