UCA Offers 90 Beds in Naryn for COVID-19 Emergency Response
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the University of Central Asia (UCA) has offered facilities for 90 beds on its Naryn campus grounds. These preparations are part of the emergency plan for Naryn (Kyrgyzstan) to mitigate the against the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Preparations are underway to build and set up the facilities at UCA’s campus construction offices and sports bubble.

Water Resources in Central Asia: Thinking Beyond Scarcity
Despite the abundance of water sources in Central Asia, residents in many villages still do not have access to safe water due to the lack of necessary infrastructure. Villagers are facing difficulties daily, as some family members have to walk long distances to fetch water for drinking purposes and household needs.

Denby Weller: A Reflection on UCA
This reflection was written by Denby Weller, Lecturer at the University of Technology Sydney (Australia), following a week-long visit to UCA in Naryn, where she conducted guest lectures for Communications and Media programme students, and held other trainings for UCA faculty and media representatives. The University of Technology Sydney is one of UCA’s academic partners, and is collaborating in curriculum development, exchange of faculty and students, sharing of teaching resources and strategies, joint conferences, seminars, and exhibitions.

UCA Book Launch: Three New Books on Cultural Heritage of Central Asia
On February 29th 2020, the University of Central Asia’s (UCA) Cultural Heritage and Humanities Unit (CHHU) held a book launch, presenting three new releases in its Cultural Heritage Book Series. It was held at the Ismaili Centre in Dushanbe (Tajikistan), and gathered over 200 attendees from the academic community, international organisations, as well as state officials.
