University of Central Asia and British Council organize inaugural English Language Festival in Tekeli and Taldykorgan
The University of Central Asia (UCA) and British Council, Kazakhstan jointly organized its inaugural English Language Festival in Tekeli and Taldykorgan on 10 and 11 March 2012, respectively. Representatives of city and oblast akimats, schools and Aynalayin orphanage were present at the opening ceremony held at Dom Drujby, Taldykorgan.

The University of Central Asia (UCA) launched its latest publication: Ancient Monuments of Tien-Shan in Bishkek on 5 March 2012. Based on 20 years of archeological research in the Naryn and Issyk Kul regions, the book presents evidence of the rich heritage of the area.

For journalists from the Kyrgyz Republic, reporting on national and local budgets is often a difficult and stressful task. Information may not be widely distributed, and budget data that is available is often hard to understand. In addition, journalists feel they are not prepared to report on budget topics, due largely to lack of knowledge and understanding.
