The Cambridge Commonwealth, European and International Trust (Cambridge Trust), and the University of Central Asia (UCA), extended their partnership agreement on February 26th 2020 to develop faculty across Central Asia for a further three years.

Tajik Entrepreneur Builds Multi-Purpose Business
Alijon, 31, left his hometown in Buni village in the Shugnan district of Tajikistan, moving to Moscow in 2005, and worked there until 2016. With a dream to start his own business, he returned to Khorog to launch a welding and car service business. The University of Central Asia’s School of Professional and Continuing Education (SPCE) helped make this a reality, when its Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) school offered to house his new venture.

UCA and Afghan Ministry of Finance Partner to Build Capacity
The University of Central Asia (UCA) and the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan’s Ministry of Finance have had a long-term partnership since 2013 to assist in building capacity. The Ministry of Finance plays a critical role in the overall responsibility for developing the country’s fiscal and economic policy framework, including overseeing the implementation of the enormous development budget. Having capable staff in this Ministry is a high priority.
