Meet SPCE Entrepreneur Rahatbek Omokoev

Date: 15 November 2017
I used to open small-businesses in different fields in Naryn town to take care of my family; however, it was difficult to create a successful business due to lack of education. I enrolled in UCA's School of Professional and Continuing Education's (SPCE) entrepreneurship programme in Naryn, and I am thankful to SPCE for expanding my knowledge on how to implement good businesses in the region," said graduate Rahatbek Omokoev.

Rahatbek Omokoev completed SPCE's entrepreneurship programme in 2016 and in 2017 secured a loan from the Kyrgyz Investment and Credit Bank as an SPCE alumni based on a partnership between UCA and the bank. The loan enabled Omokoev to purchase a cultivator and has since planted 1 tonne of garlic on 1.6 hectares of land in the Kalinin village in the At-Bashy region in Naryn. Looking to the future, he plans to expand this business and buy gathering and sowing machines make the process more efficient.
