The University of Central Asia’s (UCA) Aga Khan Humanities Project conducted a Cross-Debate Format training (CDF) for 23 participants in Khujand, Tajikistan. It aimed to strengthen the skills and knowledge of debaters and build their knowledge capacity of CDF.

In the Cross-Debate Format, participants are split into three groups to debate a certain topic from three different positions. Debaters must prove that their position is the best compared to their opponents. In CDF, positions are developed using the value system, the status quo, current realities, and evidence-based solutions.

On September 29-30, the students debated the main drivers of the economic boom, what the model of development should be for Central Asian economies, and the problem of domestic violence in Central Asia. It was led by Trainers, Nilufar Murodova and Roya Barathi.
