Second TEDx by UCA Students in Naryn

Undergraduate students at the University of Central Asia (UCA) organised a second TEDxUCANaryn event in Naryn, Kyrgyzstan on March 29th 2019. A dynamic and diverse group of international and national speakers shared their views on the interconnectedness and complexities of the world, covering the theme “The Tangled Web.”

Among the speakers were Sabrina Lakhani, a behavior scientist based in Seattle (USA), who shared her views on attachment styles and tips on successful relationships; Elnura Alkanova, an investigative journalist based in Bishkek, talked about the power of open data; and Sanira Madzhikova, CEO of Neobis Clubs, covered the challenges of developing start-up businesses. Sumsarbek Obbo Mamyraly, Founder and Chef at Baan Baan Thai Café in Bishkek shared his ideas on food as a medium for connecting people; and Samreen Kalani, UCA Naryn Campus Counsellor, spoke about re-evaluating our collective identities in a pluralistic society. The event aimed at bringing the Naryn and UCA communities together, to foster new connections and create meaningful conversations.

TEDx is an independently organised event that brings people together to share TED-like experiences to spark deep discussions and connections.
