Pastoralism in Central Asia: Status, Challenges and Opportunities in Mountain Areas
The NCCR North-South in Central Asia jointly with University of Central Asia are pleased to announce the International Symposium "Pastoralism in Central Asia: Status, Challenges and Opportunities in Mountain Areas".
The Symposium will take place in Kyrgyzstan from 13 to 18 June 2011.
The International Symposium ‘Pastoralism in Central Asia: Status, Challenges and Opportunities in Mountain Areas’ will provide a forum for scientists, development practitioners, policy makers, and herders to present and discuss current conditions, relevant opportunities, and innovative approaches and tools to support a modern pastoralism in the region. The theoretical and policy perspectives will be grounded through a multi-day field component.
