On 31 August 2012 the University of Central Asia inaugurated international standard football and tennis facilities at its Naryn Campus as part of the Kyrgyz Republic’s Independence Day celebration.

Kanatbek Muratbekov, Authorised Naryn Representative of the Government; Baatyrbek Jeenaliev, Naryn Mayor, AKDN and town officials and over 300 townspeople were  present to witness the facility’s inaugural football  tournament between teams from the Authorised Representatives’ Office (formerly called the Governor's Office) and Mayor's Office and UCA and Tosh-Bulak village.  The winner of the tournament was the Tosh-Bulak team.   The inaugural tennis game was played between the Authorised Naryn Representative and UCA staff member Michael Saposnik. The festive event received considerable coverage in the national and local media.

The football pitch conforms with world football governing body Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) standards and the tennis courts are also of international standards with artificial surface.  These facilities, built by residents of Naryn City and Tosh- Bulak village, will serve community, as well as UCA students’ needs.
“This is a very important partnership between the University of Central Asia, government administration and the local community, including Tosh-Bulak. The facilities have been built by the residents of Naryn, for Naryn,” said Mrs. Nurjehan Mawani, AKDN Resident Representative in the Kyrgyz Republic.

In Naryn Town, UCA also played a prominent role in Independence Day celebrations.
UCA hosted a concert featuring the Aga Khan Music Initiative's Bishkek-based Ustat Shakirt ensemble that was joined by Naryn performers, Askat Musabekov and Zalena Kasymova in a musical performance in the town square where hundreds of people had gathered. Earlier,  UCA’s School of Professional and Continuing Education staff and students participated in the independence parade that highlighted organizations in the oblast that were making a contribution to its development.
