The University of Central Asia’s School of Continuing and Professional Education (SPCE) organized a roundtable, "Development of Small and Medium Business in Naryn", Kyrgyz Republic on 19 October 2011. Funded by the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the roundtable was part of SPCE’s Entrepreneurship programme launched under the auspices of a two-year initiative to promote stability and economic opportunity in the Kyrgyz Republic.

University of Central Asia, Central Asian Faculty Development Programme: Ten new scholarships awarded in 2011
The University of Central Asia (UCA) Central Asian Faculty Development Programme (CAFDP) is pleased to announce its 2011-12 scholarship recipients for doctoral studies at leading universities around the world. Ten scholars from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic and Tajikistan have received scholarships to attend doctoral programmes at universities in Canada, Germany and the United Kingdom.

The University of Central Asia’s (UCA) Mountain Societies Research Centre (MSRC) and its partner, the Swiss National Centre for Competence in Research North-South (NCCR North-South) launched its Herders’ Manual for the use of pasture committees and livestock herders in the Kyrgyz Republic on 19 October 2011.

University of Central Asia’s School of Professional and Continuing Education (SPCE) and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) signed a memorandum of cooperation on 5 July 2011, for SPCE to train the Kyrgyz Republic’s Penitentiary System Reform Project correctional facilities officers. The project was implemented by UNODC with support from the European Union.

From 23 – 25th July 2011, Khorog’s Central Park was host to the fourth annual “Roof of the World” Festival. The University of Central Asia’s School of Professional and Continuing Education (SPCE) Khorog, along with other international agencies supported the participation of Kyrgyz Republic and Kazakhstan musical groups in the festival.
