University of Central Asia's School of Professional and Continuing Education officially opens its Bishkek Learning Centre
On 30 May 2011, the University of Central Asia’s School of Professional Education (UCA SPCE) officially opened its Bishkek Learning Centre. The Ceremony was attended by His Excellency Aliyasbek Alymkulov, Minister of Youth Affairs, Mrs Ulara Naruzbayeva, State Secretary of the National Agency for Local Self-Government.
University of Central Asia opens new building in Naryn, Kyrgyz Republic; Graduates 100 learners from School of Professional and Continuing Education
On 20 May 2011 The University of Central Asia’s School of Professional and Continuing Education (UCA SPCE) Naryn building was officially opened by Akylbek Japarov, Member of Parliament and Head of Finance and Budget Committee together with Vice Governor of Naryn Oblast Emilbek Alymkulov. Also present were Aga Khan Development Network Representative Nurjehan Mawani and UCA Director General Dr. Bohdan Krawchenko, French Ambassador Thibaut Fourriere, and Koba Gvenatadze, International Monetary Fund Resident Representative.
Norwegian Ambassador visits SPCE programmes in Naryn, Kyrgyz Republic
On 16 and 17 March 2011, His Excellency the Ambassador of Norway to the Kyrgyz Republic, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan, Dag Malmer Halvorsen, visited the University of Central Asia’s School of Professional and Continuing Education (UCA SPCE) in Naryn. This was part of an extended visit to Naryn and Osh to review activities funded by the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (NMFA).
UCA implements transparency and budget reporting training for journalists as part of Kyrgyz government "Information Matters" initiative
On 25th April 2011, University of Central Asia in partnership with the Development Policy Institute, the Alliance for Budget Transparency, and the Kyrgyz Stock Exchange Press Club, launched the first round of training in economic journalism and access to information for journalists in Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic.
Badakhshan Cultural Performance: Afghan - Tajik students host inaugural performance in Khorog
On 29 January 2011, Afghan and Tajik learners from the University of Central Asia’s School of Professional and Continuing Education (UCA SPCE) in Khorog, conducted the first ever joint event involving youth from Afghan Badakhshan and Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Oblast (GBAO).

From 5 - 29 March 2011, InterPress, one of the largest distributors of foreign language learning books in Kazakhstan (http://interpress.kz/), held an English Classroom Photo Competition among English language teachers and instructors from Kazakhstan’s secondary schools and other educational institutions.

On 18 January 2011, the University of Central Asia and the National Agency for Local Self- Government of the Kyrgyz Republic (NAMSU) signed a partnership agreement to cooperate on improving the knowledge and skills of NAMSU staff and local government personnel.
