University of Central Asia and Stockholm School of Economics in Riga Sign Agreement of Cooperation
The University of Central Asia (UCA) and the Stockholm School of Economics in Riga (SSE Riga) signed a memorandum of understanding on 14 February 2018 in Riga, Latvia. The intended areas of cooperation include development of curriculum for UCA’s undergraduate programme in Economics, faculty and student exchanges as well as research cooperation.
Empowering Youth for Regional Development
Over 440 young people in Kazakhstan submitted their ideas for community development projects to the University of Central Asia (UCA) School of Professional and Continuing Education’s (SPCE) third Change the World Around You! competition. Five winning projects were awarded grants up to US$3,000 to launch their initiatives across the country on January 17th 2018. The winners were selected from sixteen finalists, who participated in a short-term entrepreneurship programme in Almaty prior to pitching their ideas to the selection committee.
Winners Announced for Social Entrepreneurship Competition
Six winners were awarded grants up to US$3,000 to implement innovative community development projects across Kyrgyzstan on January 15th 2018 in Bishkek. The University of Central Asia (UCA) School of Professional and Continuing Education (SPCE) received over 800 applications from young people (18 to 31 years of age) in Kyrgyzstan for its fourth Change the World Around You! competition.
Afghan Civil Servants to Train at UCA
Over 600 Graduate in Afghanistan from UCA Schools
The University of Central Asia’s (UCA) School of Professional and Continuing Education (SPCE) celebrated its third graduation ceremony, recognising 629 learners across six Satellite Learning Centres (SLC) in Afghanistan in September and October 2017. These centres are in Darwaz, Ishkashim, Shughnan and Faizabad, as well as SPCE programmes offered in cooperation with the Aga Khan Education Service Centres in Ishkashim and Zebak.
280 Graduate from UCA Programmes
At the ninth annual graduation ceremony in Dushanbe, Tajikistan on 18 November, 2017, over 280 graduated from UCA’s School of Professional and Continuing Education (SPCE) and the Aga Khan Humanities Project (AKHP) with certificates in professional development and skills building programmes.

The Cambridge Trust and the University of Central Asia (UCA) have agreed to offer nine doctoral scholarships at the University of Cambridge in the UK to scholars from Central Asia.
