Part-Time Liaison Officers, AKHP Almaty/Bishkek (2 positions)

The Graduate School of Development’s Aga Khan Humanities Project is seeking two part-time Liaison Officers (in Almaty and Bishkek), who will build and maintain mutually beneficial relationships, facilitate communications and coordinate activities among AKHP and its partner institutions in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Act as contact points for AKHP as a network of academic institutions in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.
  • Collaborate with the current AKHP partner institutions and strengthen the network in the targeted countries and institutions by building a strong partnership with local academics and institutions, make new partners.
  • Promote teaching from AKHP textbooks and innovative pedagogy at the partner institutions.
  • Support AKHP team in coordinating and organising activities such as public lecture series, seminars and workshops in the targeted institutions.
  • Organise and conduct training sessions for the AKHP instructors.
  • Support information and dissemination activities and advocate for the project among key stakeholders; provide marketing tools consistent with UCA and donor policy.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Master’s degree, preferably in education, humanities, public relations or communications.
  • A minimum of 2 years experience in an academic setting and/or in project/programme management.
  • Ability to establish and nurture beneficial business relationships.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills in Russian and English and knowledge of Kazakh or Kyrgyz is an asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Advanced user of Microsoft applications.
