Ali has held senior audit positions in the higher education sector in Kazakhstan and Gulf countries, for the past 13 years. Prior to joining UCA, Ali served as Director of Internal Audit at A’Sharqiyah University, Oman, where he played a key role in developing the internal audit function. His successful track record includes revamping and strengthening controls, reorganizing processes, and simplifying procedures to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of academic, financial, and operational procedures. Moreover, he is proficient in ERP systems and was instrumental in its successful implementation at A’Sharqiyah University.
Ali has a PhD in Risk and Governance from the University Sains Malaysia and an MSc in Audit Management and Consultancy from Birmingham City University. As an experienced auditor, he holds important certifications, including FCMA and CGMA for Finance and Accounts, as well as CIA and CRMA for Audit and Risk.
