School of Professional and Continuing Education 

The School of Professional and Continuing Education (SPCE) was established in 2006 with a mission to advance the socio-economic development of Central Asia, especially its mountain regions, by delivering programmes that improve the livelihoods and educational mobility of a broad spectrum of learners. SPCE provides accessible, practice-oriented education designed to improve employability, support entrepreneurship, and expand economic opportunities for individuals and communities.

SPCE operates 18 Learning Centres across four countries - Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan and Afghanistan - delivering internationally benchmarked training and certificate programmes, with internationally recognised certifications in English language (Cambridge Assessment English) and digital skills (ICDL).

The school offers internationally benchmarked training and certificate programmes in accounting; business management; applied languages; IT; university preparatory programme and mental math for school children; local governance; public administration; executive trainings and vocational trades. Courses are delivered in off/online format, in modular, short-cycle, flexible learning format to accommodate learners with different backgrounds. The programme is continually monitored, ensuring it is addressed in a proper manner. Courses in demand are reviewed and enhanced to meet market needs, while the courses that are not in demand are shelved for future demand opportunities.

SPCE has developed over 743 courses across 60 programmes in 10 areas of study. Courses are delivered in online and offline formats, in modular, short-cycle and flexible learning arrangements to accommodate learners from diverse backgrounds. SPCE is also a licensed testing centre, conducting Cambridge Assessment English, IELTS, and ICDL (International Computer Driving License) examinations, both paper-based and computer-based.

• Digital and technical skills: coding, digital security, digital and media literacy, IT
• Language and business: English language, entrepreneurship
• Vocational and trade skills: mobile repair, solar panel installation, automotive repair, masonry, plumbing, carpentry

Over two decades, SPCE has become one of the largest providers of continuing and professional education in the region, extending UCA's mission beyond traditional degree programmes and helping individuals acquire the skills needed to participate in changing labour markets and economies.
