Azamat Azarov is a Research Fellow with the University of Central Asia's Mountain Societies Research Institute (MSRI). Azamat Azarov holds PhD in Sustainable Rural Development from Czech University of Life Sciences Prague, Czech Republic. He received his master's degree in agricultural economics/management at the University of Applied Sciences Weihenstephan-Triesdorf in Germany.
His research involves small and medium farming system analysis in mountainous regions of Kyrgyzstan. He has been involved in MSRI’s research projects in the fields of Food Security & Farming Systems and Ecosystem Services for Poverty Alleviation in Kyrgyzstan. He also managed MSRI’s research project aimed at introducing and promoting sweet potatoes, offering new opportunities to reduce malnutrition and support food security in Tajikistan.
