Dr. Nivine Guler is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the School of Arts and Sciences, University of Central Asia. She holds a Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from Eastern Mediterranean University. Her doctoral research focused on wireless sensor networks, specifically addressing the controller placement problem in Software-Defined Wireless Sensor Networks using metaheuristic approaches. Her thesis, titled "Metaheuristic-based Approaches for Solving the Controller Placement Problem in Software-Defined Wireless Sensor Networks," explored heuristic methods such as Genetic Algorithm (GA) and Greedy Randomized Adaptive Search Problem (GRASP) Algorithm to optimize network performance metrics.

Prior to joining UCA, Dr. Guler served as an Assistant Professor and Department Head at the University of Technology Bahrain. Her research contributions are published in esteemed journals including the International Journal of Communication Systems (IJCS), IEEE Sensors Journal, Engineered Science Journal, and Egyptian Informatics Journal. She has also contributed to conferences and book chapters, notably including "Real-Time Cloud Applications."

Dr. Guler has extensive experience teaching both undergraduate and graduate courses, covering topics such as Computer Organization, Wireless Communications, and Data Communication. Her professional activities include serving as a peer reviewer for several international research journals and conferences.

Her research interests encompass Artificial Intelligence in Robot Control Systems, Wireless Communications, Simultaneous Wireless Information and Power Transfer (SWIPT), Visible Light Communication, Internet of Vehicles, and Deep Reinforcement Learning. Dr. Guler has received several accolades, including the Best Paper Award in Engineered Science Publisher Journals (2023) and the Best Researcher Award at the International Research Award for Excellence in Network Protocols, Technology, and Communication (2024). She is also an active keynote speaker and has participated in various international conferences and webinars.
