Dr Ramzan Ali is an Associate Professor of Mathematics at UCA's School of Arts and Sciences. He has remained a UCA Central Asian Faculty Development Programme Fellow, Research Associate at Quaid-i-Azam University, and PhD and postdoctoral researcher with the Technical University of Dortmund (Germany). Recently, he completed postdoctoral training in Mathematical Biology from University of Oxford. He has supervised numerous graduate students and taught several courses in mathematics.
He serves on editorial boards and actively reviews various international scientific journals in applied mathematics and computational science. Dr Ali’s research interests include computational mathematics, biomathematics, fluid dynamics, non-linear partial differential equations, and material sciences. He has presented at various conferences and published a number of research articles on numerical schemes for solutions of non-linear partial differential equations. Specifically, his doctoral research focused on developing a numerically stable scheme for the simulation of evolving membranes on surfaces. He holds a PhD in Mathematics from the Technical University of Dortmund (Germany), MSc and MPhil, both in Applied Mathematics from Quaid-i-Azam University (Pakistan), and BSc from the University of the Punjab Lahore (Pakistan). He also holds a BEd from Allama Iqbal Open University (Pakistan) focusing on teaching Physics and Mathematics.
