Dr. Tasawar Baig is an Associate Professor in the Department of Social Sciences & Humanities at the University of Central Asia, Naryn Campus. He holds a PhD in International Studies from Old Dominion University, USA, which he obtained under the prestigious Fulbright scholarship. His areas of expertise include Power, Interdependence & Transnationalism, Comparative Politics, World Order & International Relations, and Area Studies. Dr. Baig also holds an International Master's in Asian Studies from Lund University, Sweden, and a B.A. (Honours) in International Relations & Sociology, as well as a Master's in International Relations from the University of Karachi. He has completed professional courses at the University of Pennsylvania and Lund University.

Dr. Baig has served as Associate Dean and Chairman of the Department of Politics & International Studies at Karakoram International University. He has actively participated in numerous academic forums, including serving as a member of the National Curriculum Revision Committee (NCRC) for International Relations and Gender Studies under Pakistan's Higher Education Commission (HEC). Additionally, he represented Karakoram International University in the South & Southeast Asian University Network and is a Fellow of the Belt & Road International Innovation and Development Institute Network at the University of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. In 2008, Dr. Baig received the Best University Teacher Award from the HEC.

With extensive teaching experience, Dr. Baig actively mentors students in Model United Nations. His research interests and peer-reviewed publications focus on Comparative Politics & Area Studies, Interdependence, Transnationalism, Globalization and Social Change, Social Capital, and Community-Induced Development in mountain societies. He is also a co-editor of an interdisciplinary book volume titled Mountain Studies: Understanding and Managing the Mountains for People and Nature.
