Zohirbek Asanshoev is a Senior Lecturer in English for Academic Purposes (EAP) at UCA’s School of Arts and Sciences. He comes to UCA with 10 years of English language teaching experience. Prior to joining UCA, Asanshoev worked as an English Instructor and Resources Development Coordinator at the Khorog English Preparatory Programme.
He later joined UCA’s School of Professional and Continuing Education (SPCE) in Khorog, Tajikistan as an English Instructor and taught Conversational English and English for Academic Purposes. As an English Instructor, he has also worked in Kazakhstan and Afghanistan.
His research interests include comparative education, teacher development, critical thinking in students' studies, and study impact. Asanshoev holds a Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA) from the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom. He also holds a Master’s degree in Education (International issues in Education) from the University of Birmingham in the United Kingdom.
