Advancing Digital Learning Framework at UCA
From October 30 to November 2, the Centre for Teaching, Learning, and Technology (CTLT) at the University of Central Asia (UCA) organised a series of events with the goal of advancing its digital learning framework. During a dedicated three-day strategic session, efforts were concentrated on formulating a digital learning strategy for UCA’s School of Professional and Continuous Education (SPCE). The sessions involved exploration of current digital education trends, an assessment of SPCE's preparedness for digital learning, and formation of initial steps for future digital learning initiatives.
On November 2, the workshop titled "Designing Blended Learning Courses: Processes and Approaches" drew the participation of 45 UCA instructors and staff members. Azra Naseem, the Director of Blended and Digital Learning at Aga Khan University (AKU), played a pivotal role in co-facilitating these events. She also shared the digital learning strategy of AKU for the period 2023-2027, offering valuable insights and strategic guidance.
Ms. Naseem's active involvement in shaping SPCE's digital learning roadmap signifies a noteworthy development in the collaborative relationship between UCA's CTLT and AKU’s Network of Quality, Teaching, and Learning. In March 2023, a team from AKU, led by Vice-Provost Tashmin Khamis, visited UCA Naryn Campus co-facilitating an Instructional Skills Workshop for instructors in Kyrgyzstan. The events have served to further deepen the educational ties between the two institutions.
