The University of Central Asia’s (UCA) School of Arts and Sciences welcomed a distinguished delegation from the French Senate on 24 April, led by Mr Hervé Maurey, President of the France – Central Asia Friendship Group. Accompanied by Dr Barkat Fazal, Diplomatic Representative of the Aga Khan Development Network in Kyrgyzstan, the visitors engaged with UCA's senior leadership and faculty, gaining insights into the university's academic programmes in Kyrgyzstan and broader Central Asia.

Dr Maxim Khomyakov, Dean of UCA’s School of Arts and Sciences briefed the delegation on UCA’s collaboration with educational institutions in France. UCA has recently hosted representatives from the Institut National des Langues et Civilisations Orientales (Inalco) to explore various possibilities for collaboration. Two graduates from the Computer Science programme of UCA’s School of Arts and Science in Naryn have pursued their postgraduate studies in France, enrolling at prestigious universities such as Sorbonne University and the University of Paris-Saclay.

“I have an extremely positive impression from what we have seen today. I would like to underline the quality and diversity of academic programmes and facilities. It is also important to note that the University is providing access to quality education for young generations of the region,” – noted Senator Maurey following his visit to UCA campus.
