Boosting Tourism Development in Tekeli
The University of Central Asia’s (UCA) School of Professional and Continuing Education (SPCE) conducted a training for 25 tour guides in Tekeli (Kazakhstan) from June 25th to July 3rd 2019. Participants completed 72 hours of training, including both practical and theoretical knowledge, and was aimed at developing internal and external tourism services in the region. As part of the programme, students also went on a two-day guided tour to historical places in the Aksu district of the Almaty region to learn how to organise and conduct tours.
The training was held for staff working in parks, museums, and tour-operators, and was led by Bakytkan Kamalovna Orazymbekova, “Honored Tour Guide”, Tourism Expert, and part-time SPCE Instructor. It was organised by SPCE with the State Establishment of the Department of tourism of Almaty Oblast.
