UCA Translates Key Academic Handbook into Kyrgyz Language
UCA’s Institute of Public Policy and Administration (IPPA), Graduate School of Development, has taken a significant step to empower local researchers by translating an essential academic guide, “Creating a Scientific Article and Bringing It to the International Audience,” into Kyrgyz. Originally authored by Professor Troy Sternberg from Oxford University, the handbook serves as a comprehensive resource for researchers aspiring to publish their work in international scientific journals. IPPA’s translation of this guide breaks down language barriers, opening up new opportunities for Kyrgyz academics to engage in global research and elevate the quality of their work.
Following the translation, IPPA facilitated the presentation of the handbook at two key seminars in Osh State University and Naryn State University. During the seminars, Professor Sternberg conducted a detailed training session covering the fundamental aspects of creating scientific articles, managing data collection and analysis, and organising literature and references. He also provided insights into the process of submitting articles to international journals, particularly those included in the prestigious Scopus database. Seminars attracted a large audience of academics, researchers, and students eager to gain practical knowledge on improving their research output.
The newly translated handbook is expected to be widely distributed across universities in Kyrgyzstan, giving local researchers a valuable tool to improve their academic writing and succeed in publishing their work internationally. This initiative will provide Kyrgyz scholars with the resources needed to participate more actively in global research, fostering new opportunities for collaboration and recognition.
