Privacy Policy for Mobile Applications Developed by the University of Central Asia

The University of Central Asia (“UCA” “University” ) is committed to protecting the privacy of its faculty, students, and staff who use UCA mobile applications. This Privacy Notice  explains how personal data  is collected, used, stored, and shared when you access and use a UCA mobile application.

Purpose

This Privacy Policy informs users of UCA mobile applications about how their personal data is collected, stored, used, and disclosed in connection with the use of the application. It operates within and supplements UCA’s broader data governance framework.  This document is issued under the authority of the approved UCA IT Policies.

Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to mobile applications developed and provided by UCA for use by its authorised faculty, students, and staff. These applications are made available to support convenient access to UCA services and portals.

By downloading, accessing, or using a UCA mobile application, you acknowledge that the personal data  you provide will be handled in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Personal Data UCA Collects

To access the mobile application, you may be required to provide your UCA network user ID and password. This information is collected solely for authentication purposes and to ensure that access is limited to pre-authorized users.

UCA mobile applications do not request or collect any additional personal data unless explicitly stated within the application.

How UCA Uses Your Personal Data

  • to verify your identity and authorize access to the application;
  • to provide you with access to UCA services and portals available through the application; and
  • to support secure and efficient use of the application.

Device Access and Permissions

UCA mobile applications are designed to respect your privacy. Unless specifically required for a clearly stated function of the application, the application does not:

  • access data from other applications on your phone;

Storage of Login Information

To improve usability, the application may store your login credentials or authentication details to enable easier access without requiring you to re-enter your credentials each time you open the application. If a different authorized user wishes to log in on the same device, the application allows new login credentials to be entered.

Upon deinstallation of the application and termination of your UCA account, stored personal data will be deleted.

Sharing of Personal Data

UCA does not sell, rent, or give third parties rights over the personal information you submit through the mobile application. Your information will only be used for UCA’s internal operational and administrative purposes, unless disclosure is required by law or authorized by you.
