Address by His Excellency Sadyr Japarov, President of the Kyrgyz Republic, at the First Convocation of the University of Central Asia
Dear graduates,
Dear friends,
Congratulations on becoming the first graduates of the University of Central Asia!
As you may know, the University of Central Asia was founded in 2000 by the Aga Khan Development Network Representative Office in three Central Asian countries.
The goal was to provide international level higher education for young professionals and leaders to help their local communities and make a meaningful contribution to the economic development of mountain regions.
At the same time, the mission of the University of Central Asia is to support the peoples of the region to preserve their rich cultural heritage, use it as a resource for future development, to stimulate the socio-economic development of Central Asia and its mountain societies.
World-class university campuses have been built for this purpose to provide not only education, but also a quality life for faculty members and students. The university's campuses are located at the crossroads of nine roads, in the most beautiful and historic place - the Great Silk Road.
The university buildings include beautiful modern classrooms, libraries, laboratories, as well as living quarters for faculty and staff member of the university.
The future of any country depends on its intellectuals and educated youth. The younger generation has a responsibility to lead the country into the future, which requires true patriotism, quality education, hard work and dedication that inspires the country's development goals.
The process of intellectualization is currently underway. Only educated societies can withstand competition and challenges in the global community.
I hope the first graduates of the University of Central Asia will be a source of hope and pride for our nation and for the younger generation, so that we can all build Kyrgyzstan together.
Thank you for your attention!
