The University of Central Asia (UCA) and TSARKA, Central Asia’s leading cybersecurity service provider, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to formalise their collaboration in advancing cybersecurity across the region.

The MoU was signed by Professor Christopher Gerry, Rector of UCA, and Mr. Dastan Omuraliyev, CEO of TSARKA Kyrgyzstan. The partnership will focus on strengthening cybersecurity knowledge and fostering practical cooperation in several key areas. These will include joint educational programmes, research projects, and hands-on internships that will prepare students for further academic or professional opportunities in the evolving field of cybersecurity.

By combining the academic strength of UCA with the practical expertise of TSARKA, the collaboration aims to deliver impactful cybersecurity training and awareness initiatives that benefit students, professionals, and the wider community.

This partnership also complements UCA’s new Executive Education Programme on Cybersecurity, set to launch on May 16, which aims to strengthen cybersecurity skills especially amongst youth, and build national capacity in Kyrgyzstan.

As part of the collaboration, UCA and TSARKA have also agreed to explore opportunities in the future to look at initiatives aimed at further enhancing cybersecurity resilience in the region.

Commenting on the agreement, Professor Christopher Gerry stated: "We are proud to collaborate with TSARKA to strengthen cybersecurity capacity in Kyrgyzstan. As technology continues to reshape our world, it is critical that we equip our communities with the skills and knowledge needed to navigate and protect the digital landscape. We look forward to working together to build a safer, more resilient future for Kyrgyzstan and the wider region."

This partnership marks an important step in building a stronger, safer digital environment for Central Asia.
