DevFest Naryn Sparks Collaboration Among Young Innovators
UCA’s School of Arts and Sciences, Computer Science programme , in collaboration with the Student Club Google Developer Groups (GDG), hosted a bootcamp as part of its DevFest Naryn initiative. The event brought together students from UCA, Naryn State University, and the National Children's Engineering and Technical Academy, fostering collaboration and innovation among the region’s emerging tech talent.
The programme featured engaging keynote speeches, workshops, and networking opportunities. Participants explored diverse topics, such as game development, AI and machine learning, mobile technology, and leadership strategies, gaining valuable insights into the transformative potential of Google developer tools across various industries. The speakers included Eldar Azamatov, CEO and Game Producer at Supernatural Game Development Studio who created games with over 30 million visits; Denis Pavlov, member of the AkylAI initiative team, a Kyrgyz-language AI project, and Ashia Prasad, founder of Flutter Gems and creator of API Dash, an award-winning open-source API (application programming interface) client.
Ayman Ajarbouh, Academic Director of the Computer Science programme at UCA, underscored the broader vision of the event, stating: “This event was not just about learning technical skills – it was about community outreach and empowering young minds in the region. By connecting students from different institutions, we are building a stronger, more inclusive tech community that can drive innovation or make a real-world impact. I would like to thank everyone who supported the event and all the amazing participants who joined us. We are excited to see how these bright minds will shape the future of technology.”
Participants and institutions also shared their reflections on the event. Fatima, a student from Naryn, remarked: “DevFest was an amazing experience. Everything was organised at the highest level, and every moment was engaging and insightful. I am so glad I attended. The speakers were incredible.”
The National Children's Engineering and Technical Academy (Altyn Tuyun) also spoke highly of the event, stating: “The impressions from DevFest were incredible. In terms of organisation, teamwork, and coordination, everything was top-notch – they did an outstanding job. We gained valuable insights that will truly benefit us, and the inspiring presentations were absolutely energising. We left feeling motivated and excited for what is ahead.”
