Join the side event of the High-Level International Conference on Glaciers' Preservation:“Advances in the Study of Tajikistan’s Cryosphere: Current Achievements and Future Directions”
Organised by the Centre for Glacier Research (National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan) and the Mountain Societies Research Institute (University of Central Asia), this event will bring together scientists, policymakers, and experts to explore the pressing challenges of cryosphere degradation in Tajikistan.
From glacial lake outburst risks and permafrost degradation to water security and climate adaptation, we’ll discuss cutting-edge research, share best practices, and strengthen international collaboration.
As part of the UN’s International Year of Glacier Preservation and the new Decade of Action for Cryospheric Sciences, this event aims to shape sustainable, science-based solutions for a climate-resilient future.
