Executive Programme on Quality Assurance in Higher Education

The Centre for Teaching, Learning and Technology launched the Executive Programme in Quality Assurance (QA) in Higher Education, led by Dr Mariia Guzikova, a distinguished expert in quality assurance systems and higher education reform.

The programme officially commenced last week, bringing together academic leaders and institutional administrators committed to advancing the quality and effectiveness of higher education in their respective contexts.

Designed as a practical and outcome-driven initiative, the Executive Programme guides participants through the process of designing, refining, and implementing robust QA systems tailored to their own institutions. Through a carefully structured series of in-person workshops, participants are supported in building QA frameworks at both the programme and course levels. The culmination of the programme will see each participant present a customised institutional QA system, developed with a clear understanding of international best practices and aligned with their institution’s unique goals and context.

Dr Guzikova brings a wealth of experience to the programme, combining academic rigour with hands-on expertise in institutional development, accreditation, and teaching quality enhancement. Her approach is highly collaborative and empowers participants to think systemically, engage stakeholders, and build QA processes that are both sustainable and adaptable.

This programme reflects the Centre’s ongoing commitment to strengthening teaching and learning across the institution, and to supporting a culture of continuous improvement in higher education.
