Dr Roza Kazakbaeva is an Associate Professor of English for Academic Purposes at UCA’s Undergraduate Preparatory Programme. She has more than 20 years of experience teaching English as a foreign language. She holds a PhD in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) and Composition from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
Prior to joining UCA, Dr Kazakbaeva taught at the Kazakh Ablai Khan University of International Relations and World Languages, where she developed and taught courses for the departments of linguistics and cross-cultural communications. She is trained in teaching and curriculum methodology by Seneca College, Canada.
Her research interests include TESOL and language education policy, with a focus on English language teacher preparation, curriculum development, and socio-cultural aspects of language learning.
