UCA Student Recognised Among Kyrgyzstan’s Brightest Students
Kairat Berdishaliev, a senior student at UCA’s School of Arts and Sciences, was honoured with the Presidential Award for Academic Excellence, one of the most prestigious awards for university students in the Kyrgyz Republic. This award, established by the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, recognises and celebrates the countries most talented university students for their exceptional academic performance, research achievements, and active contributions to their communities.
Kairat was among only 90 students nationwide to receive this honor during a special ceremony attended by President Sadyr Japarov of the Kyrgyz Republic. The award includes a personalised certificate signed by the President and a cash prize of 60,000 Kyrgyz Soms (approximately USD 680).
After the award ceremony, reflecting on his achievement, Kairat shared:
"I am truly honoured and grateful to receive this award from the President of the Kyrgyz Republic. It stands as one of the greatest acknowledgments of my efforts over my time at UCA, encompassing both academic pursuits and various projects. As President Sadyr Japarov highlighted, such recognition motivates students to aim higher, and it has reignited my drive to continue supporting my community in Naryn and contributing to Kyrgyzstan's development. My journey at UCA has been transformative, offering exceptional opportunities for personal and professional growth, backed by outstanding resources and support. The consistent encouragement from faculty, staff, and supervisors has been instrumental, guiding me in every pursuit."
Kairat is the second UCA student to receive this prestigious award. In 2023, Kyzzhibek Zhanibekova, then a senior student at UCA, was also honored with the Presidential Award for Academic Excellence.
