UCA Supports the Launch of Hardware Laboratory at Khorog State University
UCA has partnered with Khorog State University (KSU) to establish an advanced Hardware Laboratory as part of UCA’s Mountain Universities Partnership (MUP). This collaboration included the provision of tools and equipment for the lab, presented to KSU’s Rector, Amid Komilbek at a meeting attended by Associate Dean of UCA’s School of Arts and Sciences for the Khorog Campus, Kholiknazar Kuchakshoev, and MUP Programme Coordinator, Dastanbui Mamadsaidov.
The Hardware Laboratory is designed to equip KSU students with practical technical expertise for repairing and maintaining home appliances and office equipment. Over the past three months, 10 KSU students have successfully completed an intensive 438-hour training course on home appliances and office equipment repair, delivered by UCA’s School of Professional and Continuing Education. This course combined theoretical knowledge with hands-on practice, preparing students to utilise the lab for both academic and community-oriented purposes.
“This facility is an important step forward in empowering our students with essential technical skills. It supports the creation of a Technological Park at KSU, which will maintain university equipment and provide repair services to the local community,” - said Rector Amid Komilbek during the meeting.
Associate Dean Kholiknazar Kuchakshoev highlighted the broader impact of the collaboration, remarking: “This initiative demonstrates UCA’s commitment to building practical skills among students and contributing to community resilience. The Lab is a tangible outcome of the MUP, strengthening the partnership between UCA and KSU.”
