From Seamstress to Entrepreneur
"I’ve always struggled to find fashionable clothes in my size," Nurzat recalls. "That’s why, back in 8th grade, I decided I would learn to sew." Her passion for fashion - especially for performers’ vibrant costumes - stayed with her.
After returning to Naryn from her studies, Nurzat joined SPCE’s entrepreneurship programme. It helped her transition from working as a hired seamstress to launching her own workshop. With access to a low-interest loan through the programme, she bought a sewing machine and rented a space.
Now, her workshop employs four people and is growing fast. "Without SPCE, I might still be sewing for someone else. Now I lead my own creative business."
