UCA SPCE Training Helps a Young Entrepreneur Thrive

Meet Abdul Masawir, a 27‑year‑old entrepreneur from Faizabad,  who established a small shop in 2022 with the hope of providing a stable livelihood for his family. Despite his determination and hard work, the first year of operating the shop brought limited results. With only a 12th‑grade education and little knowledge of business management, his traditional approach to running the shop did not generate meaningful sales. At one point, he even considered closing the business altogether.

At the time, Abdul Masawir had an initial capital of 170,000 afghani, but due to operational challenges and the lack of a strategic plan, the business struggled. Everything changed in 2023 when he learned about the Entrepreneurship Programme offered at UCA SPCE’s Faizabad Learning Centre and decided to enroll.

During his studies, Abdul Masawir learned how to develop a structured business plan, identify market demands, and manage financial and material resources efficiently. Motivated by the results, he later joined the Marketing and Communications Programme, where he gained essential knowledge about marketing practices, customer communication, and promoting products effectively.

By applying the lessons learned from these SPCE programmes, Abdul Masawir gradually transformed the way he operated his shop. He introduced modern business processes, improved customer communication, and aligned his products with local demand. As a result, his business began to thrive. His capital grew from 170,000 to 400,000, and after covering all expenses, he now earns a monthly income of 6,000 afghani.

Abdul Masawir proudly shares that the skills he gained from SPCE helped him turn his small shop into a sustainable business. He expresses his heartfelt gratitude to SPCE UCA for equipping him with the knowledge and confidence needed to pursue his entrepreneurial journey successfully.
