The Institute of Public Policy and Administration of the University of Central Asia (UCA), the Leibniz Institute of Vegetable and Ornamental Crops (IGZ), and ISDC - International Security and Development Center invite applications for participation at the ‘Life in Kyrgyzstan’ Data Users Workshop to be held at the University of Central Asia in Bishkek on 8 October, 2025, from 09:00 to 13:00. This is the pre-conference event for the 11th Annual ‘Life in Kyrgyzstan’ Conference.
We invite applications from interested individuals who use or would like to use the LiK data to conduct research and analytical work. Participation in the workshop is free of charge.
The workshop will be delivered by Dr Damir Esenaliev at IGZ and ISDC, the Academic Coordinator of the LiK Study, and coordinated by Dr Ablay Dosmaganbetov at UCA. The workshop program will include an overview of the LiK Study developments and academic impact since its inception in 2010, the outcomes for the LiK 2025 wave data collection, presentation of an academic paper that used the LiK data, and a questions and answers session.
The workshop will be held in offline mode, and we aim to have about 15 participants. The language of the workshop is Russian, but some presentations could be in English. We will ask the participants to bring their laptops to work with the LiK data. The LiK data will be demonstrated based on the jamovi.org, which is an easy-to-use statistical spreadsheet built on R, offering statistical analyses, and a free open-source alternative to existing statistical tools.
Please fill out your application by 30 September, 2025 following this link: https://forms.cloud.microsoft/r/a5pFpBSzEh. The evaluation committee will announce the selection of participants by 2 October, 2025.
