“Bashat” Art Week
26-27-28 September 2025 | Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan
This exhibition is implemented within the framework of the international fellowship programme “Bashat” (Origins), which supports professionals working in the field of contemporary traditional arts. This initiative aims to strengthen the bonds between younger generations, their cultural roots, and their homeland. The programme is structured around three core workshops: Visual and Applied Arts, Traditional Music and Theatre, and Filmmaking.
Through dedicated research and artistic practice, each workshop makes a unique contribution to the revitalisation of cultural heritage, situating it within a contemporary discourse.
This programme is implemented with the support of the Ministry of Culture, Information, and Youth Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic, the World Union of Spiritual Practitioners of Indigenous Peoples (WUISP), the Nia Tera Foundation, the “Arga Bilig” Association, the Cultural Heritage and Humanities Unit of the University of Central Asia, and the “Peaceful Dialogue and Holistic Development” Public Foundation.
