Creating Opportunities, Inspiring Others: Ayana Supueva’s Journey Beyond the Classroom
For University of Central Asia (UCA) Communications and Media graduate Ayana Supueva, university life became an opportunity to lead, create meaningful initiatives and inspire others—whether by organising one of Naryn's largest youth events, mentoring young people, or sharing stories that reached millions online.
Leading TEDx UCA Naryn 2026
Ayana's leadership journey culminated in her role as Organiser of TEDx UCA Naryn 2026. Having first joined the initiative as a volunteer before becoming its Marketing Lead, she understood the potential of creating a platform where ideas could inspire new perspectives and meaningful conversations.
Leading a team across eight departments, Ayana coordinated months of planning to deliver an event that welcomed around 100 participants, including many local school students and residents of Naryn. Entrepreneurs, cultural figures and creators shared their experiences, encouraging participants to think differently about their futures and the opportunities around them.
For Ayana, the most rewarding part came after the event: "Many participants came to tell me how much they appreciated having access to inspiring speakers and new ideas here in Naryn. Knowing the event encouraged young people and broadened their perspectives made all the hard work worthwhile."
Building a Platform Through Storytelling
Alongside organising events, Ayana found another way to tell stories—through content creation. What began as a personal blog documenting student life at UCA gradually evolved into a platform showcasing education, Kyrgyz culture, travel and youth opportunities. Her motivation, however, has always extended beyond social media metrics.
"When I told people I studied at UCA in Naryn, many were surprised that such opportunities existed outside major cities. I wanted to show the beauty of Naryn, the quality of education available here, and encourage young people to believe they can achieve ambitious goals, regardless of where they come from."
The messages she receives from students who have applied for scholarships, started community projects or simply gained confidence after watching her content remain her greatest source of motivation.
From Naryn to Vienna: An International Platform
After participating in the OSCE Youth Crime Prevention Forum, Ayana was invited to speak at the OSCE Annual Anti-Corruption Conference Day 2025 in Vienna, where she shared young people's perspectives with international policymakers and experts.
"What began as participation in a youth forum eventually led to an international platform that I could never have imagined reaching at such a young age," she reflects. "It supported my belief that curiosity, initiative and hard work can open unexpected doors."
Looking back on her time at UCA, Ayana believes the University shaped not only her professional skills but also her outlook on life. "One of the most valuable lessons I learned at UCA is the importance of lifelong learning. The University taught me that growth comes from stepping outside your comfort zone, building meaningful connections and using your knowledge to make a positive contribution to your community."
As she graduates, Ayana is looking forward to beginning her professional career in communications, marketing, content creation and project management, while continuing to learn, create and contribute to the communities around her.
