Building a University Town in Naryn

For several years the University of Central Asia (UCA), as an agency of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN), has been supporting the transformation of its undergraduate campus towns in Khorog (Tajikistan) and Naryn (Kyrgyzstan) into university towns. UCA, in partnership with Government and other AKDN agencies, is pursuing social sector development initiatives in education, health, hospitality, tourism, enterprise, and rural development. This includes partnering with town municipalities to work on the master plan for the development of Naryn and Khorog. UCA’s campus construction and operations, as well as various AKDN development programmes across Central Asia, are contributing to the economic and social benefits of these emerging university towns.
