Abror

Abror Inomshoev is a Lecturer in English for Academic Purposes at the School of Arts and Sciences, University of Central Asia, where he teaches research writing (research design, thesis development, proposals, annotated bibliographies, APA style), EAP with a strong critical thinking component, and novel study integrating creative and analytical writing. He also designs syllabi and new curricula and assesses academic writing and research.

From 2010 to 2023, Abror served at UCA's School of Professional and Continuing Education (SPCE) as an English Language Instructor and lead tutor in the Postgraduate Preparatory Programme (PGPP), teaching Subject-Specific Readings and Developing Reflective Writing Practice, EAP, and IELTS. In 2021 he curated PGPP student research projects, and in 2020 he completed INSETT and investigated the impact of the pandemic on learning and teaching in Khorog. He also worked in Syria teaching IELTS and pedagogy.

Earlier, at the Branch of Lomonosov Moscow State University in Dushanbe (2012–2015), he taught English for Specific Purposes to geologists, mathematics students, and future diplomats, and presented on technology-enhanced teaching methods. His broader teaching experience spans China and Tajikistan across general English, ESP, and teacher training.

His engagement with interdisciplinary and humanistic education began early. In 2006, he participated in two semester-long seminars through the Aga Khan Humanities Project (AKHP), earning certificates in Gender, Justice, and Worship (Fall Semester) and Politics, Democracy, and Civil Society (Spring Semester) -formative experiences that have continued to shape his approach to critical inquiry and academic discourse. In 2015, he completed advanced professional development programmes with the Institute of Ismaili Studies, receiving certificates in Introduction to IELTS Training, IELTS Preparation and Teacher Training, and Critical Thinking and Teacher Training.

Abror holds a Diploma in English Language Teaching from Tajik State Pedagogical University, CELTA (Cambridge), and Cambridge TKT, has completed Cambridge Speaking Examiner training, and received a Cambridge DELTA (Diploma in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) certificate majoring in Business English, and currently is pursuing another Cambridge DELTA majoring in EAP. He also holds certificates in AI for Education and Advanced Creative Thinking and AI.

In 2023, he received an award for Long Term Service at UCA. In 2025, he received UCA's School of Arts and Sciences Award for Excellence in Teaching. In January 2026, he completed The Assured Certificate in Teacher Education (ACTE), a professional development programme designed and delivered by the British Council and awarded by City & Guilds. His interests include EAP pedagogy, curriculum design, reflective practice, novel study, and the role of AI and creativity in academic writing.
